Arlington Arts Alliance Announces 2009 - 2010 Arts Grant Awards
March 01, 2010The Arlington Arts Alliance is pleased to announce our 2009 - 2010 grant awards. The 2009 - 2010 Arlington Arts Alliance grant winners are:
- Friends of the Levitt Pavilion Arlington has been awarded $22,500 for their 2010 Summer Concert Series. The Levitt Pavilion is proud to be the gathering place for Arlington, where all ages, ethnicities, income levels and backgrounds experience community through the magic of free music under the stars. The Levitt provides 50 free cultrually diverse concerts a year with professional music artists.
- Theatre Arlington has been awarded $20,000 for their 37th season entitle "Discover the Treasure." Theatre Arlington is dedicated to its community, holding open auditions for all productions and partnering with community organizations, and every single rehersal and production is in Arlington. Theatre Arlington also places a high priority on the educational components of its professionally choreographed and musically directed all-youth productions.
- Creative Arts Theatre & School has been awarded $14,300 for their 31st season. CATS' mission is to develop the potential of young people from diverse backgrounds through performing arts training and performance opportunities. CATS is devoted to professionally training, enriching and inspiring all youth by igniting within them an enduring passion for the arts.
- Arlington VIBE has been awarded $12,800 to professional produce a website that promotes the arts, and businesses, in Arlington. With daily features covering arts organizations, individual artists, and local business leaders, the Arlington VIBE will increase the awareness and audience for arts and culture in Arlington.
- Symphony Arlington has been awarded $12,000 for their performances in the newly renovated Arlington Music Hall. Symphony Arlington is a professional ensemble of full-time musicians, chosen by competitive audition, with guest conductors and soloists drawn from the international classical music elite. Symphony Arlington strives to enrich, entertain and educate audiences through high quality arts programming.
- Arlington Master Chorale has been awarded $9,100 for their 2010 Spring Concert entitled "Mozart's Requiem." The Arlington Master Chorale was founded in 1973, and has been presenting chorale performances of traditional music and major works of the highest caliber for the Arlington area since. The reputation of the AMC's commitment to excellence has given the group the opportunity to perform in Carnegie Hall, Bass Hall, Morton Myerson, and for many local arts and civic groups.
- F6 Gallery has been awarded $5,500 for their 2010 gallery shows. The purpose of the F6 Gallery is to have a place for any artist to display their art without discrimination and help the community explore all art forms and artists. F6 Gallery seeks to create partnerships where artists share their work, meet the community and bring cultural diversity and inspiration to all.
- Timeless Concerts has been awarded $3,800 for their April 17, 2010 performance of "Made in America," and their September 18, 2010 performance of "An Evening in Mexico, 1911." Timeless Concerts' mission is to present Chamber music of all styles and eras, in a casual and engaging environment, in order to provide education about, and promote appreciation and support for, LIVE classical music.
